0 Episode 57 – Valiant & Valiant
We’re leaping into the future here at the Wheels Brewing Co Studio! It’s another partial web-based episode, as Kris McNeal joins us via Skype, with Jeff Priesmeyer along Adam and myself in the studio.
We have a few things to cover this week!
First! Before we actually tackled the Mic Check this week, I chatted with Kris about his recent Big Water Bike adventure, where he Zach Chase became the first people to circumnavigate the Great Lakes system on bicycles. You can learn more about it at their web site (www.bigwaterbike.com) or on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/bigwaterbike). We chatted for about 20 minutes about how the trip went, what drove him to do it, and the logistics of lodging and filming a documentary at the same. That interview is available today in the Bonus Tracks!
Once that interview wrapped up, we invited Jeff into the fray, as we discussed some of our recent favorite soundtracks that we’ve been cycling through, or any album, for that matter. A lot of great selections throughout that conversation, in case you’re looking for something new to listen to.
Next, Adam and I are trying to get into the habit of generating more articles, so you should see some more action on the web site soon!

“Alaska” and “Lola” join Dan and Adam in the studio to discuss the importance in finding neighbors who do not know how to encrypt Wi-Fi routers, and to discuss what they’re watching. This was a good cycle of discussion regarding what everyone is listening to, watching, and planning to watch, as “Alaska” and “Lola” discuss their upcoming adventures. ‘Bout half way through, everyone teaches “Alaska” how to play “Movie Bluff”. Molly joins Dan and Adam via Apple FaceTime and Matt joins Dan and Adam in the studio to figure out whether or not Molly’s a robot, all the while, talking about what they’re streaming. Followed by that was many a tangent, some news, and a round of “Movie Bluff.” Molly and Matt are two really funny folks, and riffed well off of each other. Check it out!

0 Episode 55 – Eh?
Happy Late Thursday all! Sorry about the late posting, but it was a busy day here at the Wheels Brewing Co Studio.
Well, I mean … I assume it is. I’m at work during the day, but … you know, something might be going on.
I digress. Adam and I had a fantastic time this week with Matt here in studio in Minneapolis, MN, and Molly FaceTime-ing in from NYC. Matt and Molly are two really funny people, and it was great to have them in the same conversations.
The four of us had such chemistry from the get go that we didn’t actually have a Mic Check topic this week. We just started chatting and perpetuating the conversation until half of an hour went by.
And as an apology for dropping the Mic Check so late, I’ve also included an additional pre-episode bonus track! You can listen as Dan, Adam and Matt struggle to successfully connect with Molly via Skype. It’s some goofy fun.

Ben & James join Dan and Caity in the studio to discuss everything they’re absorbing digitally in the web, BS their way through some news and play “Movie Bluff.” With Adam out sick after the MN Ren Fest, Caity fills in as Dan, Ben & James chat her up as the conversationalists they are. Enjoy!

Peter and Julia joined Dan and Adam in the studio for another pseudo high school reunion, plus the occasional conversation about streaming media. Dan listed off a number of honorable mentions for news this week, plus how Apple is taking on Pandora & Spotify, and highlighting Crunchyroll’s 100,000th paid subscriber. As a celebration for running for a full year, a majority of the episode is dedicated to Movie Bluff.

Emily and Gooey joined Dan and Adam in the studio celebrate the taping of the 50TH EPISODE! To keep up with appearances, they also talked about streaming media! The four went into depth about musicians getting paid for having their content available for streaming, and artists who are opting out. They also chatted about additional news, and taught Emily how to play Movie Bluff.

Jason and Shelby joined Dan and Adam in the studio as the first duo of new guests the gents had in months, and they even talked about streaming media! Jason and Shelby talk about what they’re currently watching/listening to online to give everyone context into their streaming media backgrounds, and then the quartet banters off into the sunset. They also discus some recent news loosely affiliated with streaming, including the Apple vs. Samsung verdict and an overview of Redbox Instant’s approach to competition. From there, Dan and Adam teach their new guests how to play Movie Bluff.
