0 Episode 10 – Mic Checks
Hi-diddly-ho there, listenerinos!
(On a Flanders kick after receiving a sermon from a Target cashier at lunch today.)
We’ve finally hit double digit episodes with “Buffering …”! Ten weeks ago we taped our first episode, and have launched at least 20 hours of episodes and bonus tracks since! Go team!
This week, we had Kristin Johnson on the show, who worked with Adam at the radio station at Luther College, and made for an excellent guest. To kick off this week, I’ve posted the new Mic Check to the Bonus Track Archive, as well as the RiffTrax from last week that I promised. If you check out the RiffTrax, I have posted the audio track as the link for the Show Name, and a link to the Netflix Instant Streaming video on the Episode Name. We try to give you a good heads up to sync the audio and video.
Until then, check out the new Mic Checks at the Bonus Track Archive!
0 Episode 10 – Double Digit Day!
0 Episode 9 – Captain Mic Check, AWAY!
Hola, my compatriots.
Hope that you are having an excellent week so far. I know I am. This week’s episode was fun, as always, to tape. It’s always great to have Matt Walstead on for an episode, and I’m glad we got Dave Wheeler in once more before he moves back down south until 2012.
This week, we will not have a bonus Leonard Maltin game for you, as we started a lot later than we like to on a weeknight, but we did tape two RiffTrax that you will be able to listen to along side an active Netflix account.
Until then, check out this week’s Mic Checks!
0 Episode 9 – Be Our Guests!
0 “Buffering …” on iTunes!
0 Episode 8 – A new month, a new bonus track
We have completed so much, you guys!
The web site looks so much better! We’re available on iTunes!!! And I’ve maintained my sanity throughout the entire process! It’s Win-Win-Win … Win.
We had another of our “quiet” episodes this week, where our guest, Robbie Kjelland, was our only guest. You can look at it as the other half of Episode 6. But Robbie was an excellent guest. Oh yes. We had a lot of fun with her, and we know we’ll have her back on.
For our Bonus Track Mic Check this week, we opted to pay tribute to Tom Keith of MPR and “Prairie Home Companion” fame, by discussing our favorite sound effects, and which movie we’d foley, if given the opportunity (and a time machine).
You’ll notice on the Bonus Track page (once you reach it) that there will not be a bonus Leonard Maltin Game this week, but fear not. This week’s episode is long enough to cater to a standard episode and bonus track rolled into one. We’ll try to get something going to give you an extra bonus track down the line (if we ever get that RiffTrax coordinated).
Until then, check out this week’s Mic Check on the Bonus Track page!
0 Web Site Maintenance (AGAIN? REALLY? [YES. REALLY, REALLY])
Happy Wednesday Folks!
Tonight I’m going to be working on improving the Web site’ organization. Unfortunately, that includes me pulling the plug on access to the episodes for a spell. This may/probably will disrupt downloads from iTunes as well.
But fear not! There are still Bonus Tracks to be heard in the lull. And if you’re all good, I’ll post this week’s Mic Checks tonight rather than tomorrow at noon.
Deal?
Deal.
Perfect.
I’ll try to remember to put something up if this delays its way into tomorrow.
0 Holy Madness! We’re on iTunes!
You heard me right, kids!
“Buffering …” is now available for download on iTunes! Seriously! Go check it out! Search for ‘Dan Whelan’, or ‘Adam Erdmann’, or ‘Buffering’ and you’ll find us in the Podcast section.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, you won’t be hearing a lot of bonus tracks on iTunes, but you’ll always be able to find them here, on http://bufferingpodcast.com.
Another thing to note is iTunes usually just does one pass per feed per day, so I’ve already made updates that you will most likely be able to see tomorrow (including guest names in the episode titles, an overall podcast cover art, etc.), so keep an eye out for that stuff, and soon you will be able to search for your name if you’ve appeared on our show! Cool, right?

0 Episode 7 – El Bono de Leonard Maltin juego
Happy Saturday, folks!
We’ve been having a heck of a time reorganizing the “Buffering …” site to prep for inclusion into the iTunes Podcast library, so I won’t waste your time.
We had an awesome Extra Leonard Maltin game this week, between Dave Wheeler, Emily Dyess, and Adam Erdmann.
0 “These sites, they are a-changin’ …”
“Come gather ’round people, who visit this site. And hear me admit that the site org ain’t right …” (You didn’t think I’d be spoofing the entire song, did you?)
Good morning, young visitors (young in relation to Genghis Khan, of course), and welcome to that which will no longer be the same soon. That’s right! In Dan’s research regarding “How ‘Buffering …’ needs to be posted in order to be picked up by iTunes Podcasting library”, he realized he’d been doing it ALL WRONG.
Well, no. Not “ALL WRONG”, but just 99% wrong, according to the standards and practices of all podcast producers. You can tell it was developed by someone who works in marketing, based on the number of clicks it takes to reach the primary content, while being surrounded by additional, optional messaging.
So, in the coming days and weeks, BufferingPodcast.com will be taking on a new organization and appearance. There will also be the rebroadcasting of the first seven episodes again, so they are at the foot of our RSS feed.
And as previously promised, all bonus material will remain exclusively on the site. It’ll all be free, since, you know, we want to build our listener base, so no need to worry about that.
So … yes. There’s a Friday morning update for you. The episode will be out around Noon today (and I think it’s a good ‘un, too), so make sure to check back for that.
And if you need something to do while you wait, check this site out.
