0 Episode 49 – 08/28/12 feat. Shelby Lano & Jason Snyder
Jason and Shelby joined Dan and Adam in the studio as the first duo of new guests the gents had in months, and they even talked about streaming media! Jason and Shelby talk about what they’re currently watching/listening to online to give everyone context into their streaming media backgrounds, and then the quartet banters off into the sunset. They also discus some recent news loosely affiliated with streaming, including the Apple vs. Samsung verdict and an overview of Redbox Instant’s approach to competition. From there, Dan and Adam teach their new guests how to play Movie Bluff.
Taped at The Frank Oz Memorial Studio, Minneapolis, MN on August 28, 2012.

0 Episode 49 – Fishy Soundbites & Those Summer Nights
Right. It’s Thursday and that means it’s time to post a “Buffering …” Bonus Track!
This week we had two FIRST TIMERS! Shelby Lano and Jason Snyder joined Adam and myself in the Frank Oz Memorial Studio, and there was a definite synergy within the group as we chatted throughout the taping.
I’m gonna keep it short today and just point you right at the EPISODE PAGE, where you can find the MIC CHECK that has been posted today, as well as tomorrow’s NEW EPISODE!
0 Episode 48 – 08/21/12 feat. Molly Kamph & Caity Shea Robertson
Molly and Caity join Dan and Adam and get existential all over the studio, seamlessly including streaming news. They talk about the top ranked Netflix movies, according to IMDB, changes coming for Hulu users, and apps developed by musicians. Plus, we learn all about Caity’s Monkey Daycare, and Molly dissociates herself from Obama app hackers. As a bonus for your ears, they wrap it up with a great round of Movie Bluff.
Taped at The Frank Oz Memorial Studio, Minneapolis, MN on August 21, 2012.

0 Episode 48 – Fat Digital Monkeys for Sale
It’s time to swing into everything we created this week! Obviously, Thursday’s are dedicated to Mic Check releases each week, but we can also tease that which occurred during Tuesday’s episode taping, like how we had Molly Kamph and Caity Shea Robertson on this week (Yes, we had posted a picture on our Twitter feed that we’d have Nick Johnson on this week, but he was called away at the last minute for work, and Caity was kind enough to sit in). So Adam and I had a great time with Molly and Caity, and everything got nice and abstract to get us from news story to news story before we got to Movie Bluff.
Make sure to listen all the way through this week’s episode, as we have our first ever “Buffering …” Celebrity News segment after the end theme.
Right. Enough stalling. It’s time to get you some Mic Checks. During this week’s Mic Check, we wandered all over the spectrum of abstract conversation, hitting upon dictators, Caity’s monkey daycare, and marsupials (as well as some of our dream marsupial hybrids). You can find it on this week’s EPISODE PAGE. Or by clicking HERE. Or HERE. So now I guess that answers why the fat orangutan has been watching you the entire time you’ve been reading. Enjoy!
0 Episode 47 – 08/14/12 feat. Jake Pullis & Matt Walstead
Jake and Matt join Dan and Adam and test the first episode without the futon, plus something about streaming news. Matt expresses his delight in Disney’s available programming on Mexico’s Netflix (plus it has Inglorious Basterds … in Portuguese). After that, Adam chats about how he uses the new PS3 Netflix feature, Netflix Max. And there’s also an attack on the Amazon.com User Interface. At the end, they play a pretty awesome round of Movie Bluff.
Taped at The Frank Oz Memorial Studio, Minneapolis, MN on August 14, 2012.

0 Episode 47 – “The Internet”, circa 1998, and Cat Grandpa!
We broke from tradition this week and removed the guest futon from the studio set up to see if we could find a better way to place our guests. Sure, we just changed to a few spare kitchen chairs, but we also covered them in fuzzy blankets so that it’d seem like they were lined with Muppet fur … which, as I write it, sounds a lot more horrifying than I had intended.
BUT we had a great time, despite the seating switcheroo, with Jake and Matt this week. Between the four of us, we worked with a vast collection of pop culture knowledge and happenstance experience to give us some great, and RANDOM conversations throughout the evening.
You’ll definitely catch this during the episode, which’ll be available tomorrow, but you can get your fix now by listening to this week’s Mic Check! The conversation started out discussing previous incarnations of, and memories linked to, AOL, and old-timey Internet, but, then it began to meander, as it does. Definitely keep an ear open for Cat Grandpa as you listen!
Here’s a link to the episode page so you can check back when the episode is released tomorrow!
0 Episode 46 – 08/07/12 feat. Maggie “Gooey” Whelan & Tom “Wheels” Whelan
Gooey and Wheels join Dan and Adam to see what happens when three Whelans have microphones, plus a bit of streaming news. On this week’s show, they hop all over the place, talking about a few news stories that Dan unearthed, plus the cloud, streaming documentaries, and why Wheels left Facebook. From there, Dan, Adam and Wheels teach Gooey how to play Movie Bluff.
Taped at The Frank Oz Memorial Studio, Minneapolis, MN on August 7, 2012.

0 Episode 46 – How many Whelans does it take to …
OK, so I don’t really have a follow up for that headline, but it was an awesome show this week, as we had Wheels return for another appearance on the guest futon, but, in tow, he brought my sister Gooey with, to expose her to as much streaming media as he could.
And we three Whelans had fun hanging out with Adam in the Frank Oz Memorial Studio, and our conversations, as per usual, wandered all over the place. But for now, the MIC CHECK is available on the EPISODE PAGE.
In all actuality, I’ve already posted the episode itself, anticipating a busy Friday in the office and/or early escape to the Irish Fair in St. Paul, MN, but we’ll see who reads this far into the post before investigating the episode page.
Make sure to check out this week’s mic check, plus the episode, and we’ll see you next week for episode Forty Seven!
0 Episode 45 – Sorry I’m Late!
Right. So … sorry I’m late. I was on a business trip from Thursday until today, and my hotel had less than 1 Mbps Wi-Fi, so I didn’t have a good enough connection to successfully get everything on the site.
But … on the bright side, now you get everything at once! Now the episode is available (and should be available on iTunes and Stitcher shortly), plus both bonus tracks! You can check everything out by clicking here.
We had a fantastic time during this week’s episode, with two veterans on site to perpetuate the conversation in any direction we wanted to take it. It was really nice. In terms of priorities, you should definitely start with the Episode, then the Mic Check, then the Post-Episode bonus track. Do them in that order.
While you do that, I’m going to go finish unpacking my car so I can get access to the Spotted Cow I just picked up for the studio (we can call that an incentive to get our future guests riled up).
0 Episode 45 – 07/31/12 feat. Katie Best & Alex “AJ” Johnson
Katie and AJ join Dan and Adam to hold the random conversations that they do, with the occasional reference to something streaming. On this week’s show, they talk about a lot of platform updates for streaming services, including Amazon, Hulu Plus, Pandora and Spotify. They also talk about Olympics streaming video, and all of the press and social media rants tied to that. Thereafter, they play a great round of Movie Bluff.
Taped at The Frank Oz Memorial Studio, Minneapolis, MN on July 31, 2012.
